- Angel City FC was able to draft Alyssa Thompson by acquiring the No. 1 pick through a multi-team trade.
- Thompson is a phenom and generational player who can make an immediate impact, but is also young enough to develop.
- Thompson is 18 years old and still attends high school at Harvard-Westlake – with a career 48 goals in 18 games.
- She was previously committed to Stanford University (at age 15) but opted to forgo her college eligibility to enter the draft.

Angelina Anderson
- Anderson is from Danville, California and attended UC Berkeley where she recorded 26 career shutouts, second all-time in school history.
- In 2019, she was named Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Year and Freshman of the Year.
